Alexander y Thomas Huber son dos hermanos que viven por y para el alpinismo desde su infancia. Su especialidad es la escalada de velocidad, consistente en alcanzar en el mínimo tiempo posible la cima de un muro de piedra, cuanto más escarpado y más arisco, mejor. Después de haber superado todos los retos que se han propuesto hasta el momento, ahora se enfrentan al más difícil todavía: coronar en tiempo récord el impresionante El Capitán, ubicado en el Yosemite Valley californiano.
